The Digital Finch LLC · Last updated: 8 September 2026
The Digital Finch LLC operates thedigitalfinch.com. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what happens to it.
The short version
I collect the details you type into the contact form, so that I can reply to you. That is all. This site sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and does not track you. I do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or send you marketing you did not ask for. If you want your information deleted, email me and I will delete it.
What I collect
Information you give me. When you fill in the contact form, I collect your name, business name, phone number, email address, the kind of work you are asking about, and anything you write in the message field.
Information collected automatically. The server hosting this site keeps standard technical logs — pages requested, approximate time, browser and device type, and an IP address. These are generated by the hosting provider for security and reliability. I do not use them to build a profile of you, and I do not review them routinely.
That is the complete list. There is nothing else.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. It uses no analytics software, no advertising pixels, no session tracking, and no third-party scripts of any kind. Nothing on this site follows you anywhere else on the internet.
Why I collect it
To answer your enquiry, and if we end up working together, to carry out the work. That is the whole list. Nothing is used for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
Who else handles it
Two service providers, and your information passes through them:
- Netlify hosts this website and processes contact form submissions. Submissions are stored in my Netlify account and forwarded to my email.
- Google Workspace provides my email. Anything you send me lives in my inbox.
Each has its own privacy policy governing what they do with the data they process. I do not sell your information, and I do not share it with anyone else except where legally required to.
How long I keep it
Contact form submissions and email correspondence are kept for as long as there is a reason to — an active conversation, an ongoing project, or a client relationship. Where I have a legal or tax obligation to retain business records, I keep those as long as the law requires. Enquiries that go nowhere are deleted periodically.
Your choices
You can ask me to tell you what I hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete it, or stop contacting you.
Email james@thedigitalfinch.com and I will take care of it. There is no form and no process — just ask. Depending on where you live you may have some of these rights under law; I would rather honour them for everyone.
Security
Information you send is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored in access-controlled accounts protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, and I would rather say that plainly than claim otherwise.
Children
This site is intended for business owners and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Links to other sites
This site links to demonstration sites and occasionally to third-party resources. Once you follow a link away from thedigitalfinch.com, this policy no longer applies.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
